Backpack love

I've been thinking about backpacks...
After a day in the city this week lugging around a shoulder bag (you know what I mean, filled with Evie's spare clothes, snacks, drink bottles...) I started thinking that there's got to be a chic, yet more practical, way to do this.

This post from Cup of Jo is what got me first thinking about backpacks (Joanna says they're cool in New York!)

Here's what I've come up with:

Brandy Melville (out of stock)

Ecote (out of stock)

Poketo (US $58)

Survey (US $49.99)

Dusen Dusen (US $110)

Jeffrey Campbell (AUS $140)

Eunice Han (US $69)

Poketo (US $48)

Pop Quiz (US $69.99)

ASOS (AUS $57.54)

opinions or suggestions??

My own evie dear

Rog took some lovely photos of Evie last weekend that I wanted to share with you. She is really growing up, already three and a half! She is super cheeky, very independent, has tonnes of energy & is lovely too!
(and yes, ballet is the new favourite thing around here, hence the 'ballet hair' & pretend ballet slippers!)

I super love my girl

Easy like sunday morning

Last night we had drinks for my sis-in-laws birthday, it was really lovely, but after a long day we were home by 10:30! Evie slept over at my folks place last night, which she loves, no doubt she is getting her fair share of hugs, television & treats!

Of course I'm still awake at 6:30 this morning, what's the deal! it's my morning to sleep in! Anyway, I'm making the most of it. There's nothing like heading out to the garden early to survey the veggies & give the the chooks their breakfast. I'm planning to sit here in my pj's for a while longer, catching up on my blogs & enjoying a leisurely breakfast (while Roger sleeps on). What's your Sunday morning like?

I'm back

Sorry for my absence, Roger's been away for work this past week & I haven't felt much like blogging. But here I am!

What have I done this week?

I've spent the time with old friends in Downton Abbey and Parks & Recreation, and new friends in Ashes to Ashes (season 1 - ah, Gene Genie).

I've been kept company in bed by a couple of good books; The No 1 Ladies' Detective Agency, The Mayor of Casterbridge & my baby name book (which I've read from A to Z and didn't find too inspiring! boys names are tricky!)

Here's a pic stolen from my sister's facebook page (classy, I know!) to show off my 22 week belly - getting bigger all the time!!

Monday at home

I figure with a new babe in February I'll be spending alot of time in my pj's this summer. Hence I have been sewing myself a new summer dressing gown. I'm pretty proud that I've finished it! I went with a pattern from the 70's (classic) and bought 100% cotton for $5 a metre (classy!) I've got to toot my own horn & say that I really like it!!

I've been trying to eat healthier lunches at home, and I really loved todays (inspired by some awesome photos of scandinavian breakfasts I've been seeing on blogs). mmm....

One last pretty, the flowers on our kitchen table. The roses are from our garden (just coming into bloom, I wish you could smell them!) and the posy is from the farmer's market yesterday - happiness in a glass jar!

What's making you happy / healthy / feel productive today?

A booger of an idea

gah, I'm not feeling super inspired to share much today, but I'll leave you with a gem of an idea I had a couple of weeks ago.

I had a cold, and when that happens I tend to use heaps of tissues, they're just so darned convenient! To up my hankie usage I filled an empty tissue box with clean hankies & popped it on the kitchen bench. Ok, so it's not the most glamorous of ideas, but it sure worked!!

Perfect night in

Last night I made thick, chewy oatmeal raisin cookies (instead of raisins I added dark choc chips and some chopped pepitas - amazing!) We ate them with a hot cup of tea & watched Mad Men, it really doesn't get any better!

ps - the news on the interwebs this morning (confirmed by Will Arnett on twitter) is that Arrested Development will have one last season & then a movie - aaah! super exciting!

pps - yes, maybe I love tv a little too much, have a problem with that?!?
